how to attract your ideal wedding clients to your floral business

How to attract YOUR ideal clients to your business.

“If I post about all the weddings I do, I will get more leads.”

Well, not really…

What about those businesses who don’t post, but have a full calendar of weddings each year?

OR, the opposite…

What about those talented florists, event designers, or creative entrepreneurs that post every day and are still struggling to get seen and get leads to their business?

Would you believe me if I told you that it has nothing to do with posting every day or posting all the gorgeous images of the weddings you do?

The wedding market is rapidly changing and it’s time to hop aboard. Potential clients don’t want to feel like they are just another wedding in a mass production of emails and Pinterest boards.

They are looking for connection...and personalized interaction. It’s time to step ahead of the trend and give your prospects exactly what they are looking for (even if you don’t have a big team, countless hours or bucket loads of money to spend on marketing) so you can build a raving fan base of buyers and referrals.

One of the first things you can do is make sure your creative or floral business is on the right track…is your brand ready and attracting the right clients for you?

Get a head start by checking out my Creative Brand Map right here.

So, how do I attract more leads to my floral wedding business?”

“Build your number of followers…” the experts say.

How many times have you heard that one?

So maybe you’ve been thinking you just need to post pictures of the floral designs you do.

STOP right there!

You know what they didn’t tell you?

If having followers is the key to a successful business then…

That would mean that everyone who has a lot of flowers, has a lot of business, right?

When I was first starting online, the internet was growing like crazy and then, Instagram came along. Everyone was like...”Hey you need to get followers!”. My team and I went into hyper mode trying to figure how to get more followers.

Fast forward to present day, after adding thousands of followers to my IG account, I learned a thing or two that I’m gonna share with you today.

And the best part is when you put in the right system and step-by-step strategy, you’ll have a clear path for getting more qualified leads to your business.

So, then, if it’s not about posting more, what do I need to do?

Great question! Now that you know that it’s not about posting more, or the gorgeous pics (which I love and love to scroll and see all those drool-worthy images too!). Where do you begin?

Maybe you already have lots of followers but it’s still a ghost town with getting real qualified leads. I mean lots of people like your posts and give you high 5’s but they aren’t buying from you.

I get it.

For a looooong time I did the same thing. And watching others create these epic followings and engagement, I knew there was something I was missing.

If you’re like I was, you’ve probably…

  • been posting like crazy on all of your platforms
  • wasting time on busy work and distractions (unsure what to focus on first or next)
  • wondering where you can possibly find the time to create your content

Maybe you’re doubtful that you can actually keep up with all of this social media…

Or you’re waiting for clarity on your perfect message…

Or aren’t sure how to nail down getting potential clients to connect with you.

But ladies and gents, let me tell you that all of that will come when you just get started building your brand story and entourage of true fans.

When I finally bit the bullet and built out my brand story, voiced my brand values and started connecting AND educating my audience AS WELL AS asking them for their business...

And guess what? It worked!

Money and success like speed!

Not only did I book out my calendar, I booked 90% of the wedding consultations I did.

That, my entrepreneur friend, is where the magic happens for your business.

The perfect time to do something about it is NOW

To get seen in a BIG WAY and be recognized as a leading expert

To build a raving true fan base of perfect-for-you clients

To create gorgeous events that make my clients visions come to life

To sell out my calendar year after year

Or to be fully booked and have a waitlist

BUT let’s be honest.

You don’t want to be sleazy, icky or pushy. (I didn’t either!)

You question how you can do this when people don’t know who you are yet.

You’re kinda fearful and embarrassed thinking nobody will contact you and what will your family and friends think when they’ve seen you working so hard on your business.

I get it. I felt that way too and after helping many floral entrepreneurs build profitable wedding businesses as well as my own, I know this…

You’ve got so much value and creativity to add even you question it at times.

You know in your heart that you’re here to create an impact and share your message and designs in the world.

And you don’t want to be working 24x7 and burning yourself out with exhausting events that don’t pay off, consultations with couples that don’t have the budget, and time creating proposals to never get a response back, only to have little or no profit.

But you want THIS.

A dream business.

Filled with YOUR dream clients.

The flow of money to relieve the pressure of where you next client will come from.

The impact.

The freedom to do whatever the heck you want, when you want without worrying about money OR having to answer to anyone else.

You want to be able to do something BIG.

And to give back to those who matter to you most.

BUT, you’ve probably fallen into the emotional rollercoaster of an entrepreneur. Does this look familiar?

I have been through these peaks and valleys. I’ve met with brides that resulted in $0 dollars purchased and $1000’s of dollars of my time, and I’ve had multiple wedding consults generate over $20k for a single wedding. And these weren’t one-time celebrity weddings. They were with clients that genuinely wanted gorgeous floral-dripping decor.

And, well...pretty much everything in-between.

Maybe you’re wondering with so many wedding entrepreneurs out there, is there any point in you doing this?

What I can tell you is that a strategy and a system is the key to a successful wedding business.

And weddings have been the one thing in my business that has always allowed me to build an incredible true fan base and skyrocket my income from the lowest of lows to headline worthy highs.

The best part is, you don’t need to have a HUGE audience OR following to start.

And you don’t need to break the bank for it to be successful.

What do you need to get started?

Commitment and readiness to show up in a bigger way and take one step at a time.

So if you’re ready for a fully booked docket of clients while working less on what to post everyday so you can have the freedom to have FUN and spend time with those who matter most to you, then I want to get you started. Taking those first steps to set the stage in building your own engaged and profitable business with your 1000 true fans.

Ok, let’s dive in.

Before you can start priming them to come in and consult with you, you need to set the stage.

Let’s look at the first steps you can put into action NOW to get your leads primed, educated and ready to consult with you!

Milestone #1: Establish Your Foundation.

Step 1. Tell them your "WHY". In order to make a connection with you, they need to know your "why" around why you're in business.

Step 2. Share your Brand Values. This will build confidence in you and your company.

Step 3. Ask for the connection. Be bold and certain about what, and who, you are looking to work with.

Milestone #2: Educate Them!

Step 1. Think about their biggest questions and pain points when it comes to choosing what you do and planning for their wedding.

Step 2. Make a list of those pain points and questions.

Step 3. Now, write down how to address those pain points and questions. How can you help them with those pain points and questions they have?

Milestone #3: Bring them in with Your Intentional Content

Step 1. Write a blog about each one of those pain points and questions.

Step 2. If you have an email list (and I hope you do), write an email that points to each one of your blogs. Send them out week by week or however often you are posting your blog.

Step 3. Bring out three points from each blog post that gives you a caption, quote, insight, highlight, or point you can use for your social media posts. Pair each with an enticing photo or something from your repertoire of images you love! And don’t forget to pair some of those nuggets with images of you! This will bring connection to you and your audience.

Now, doing these action items above will most likely require spending a few hours as you build these steps out. But I guarantee you this will give you tons of content and inspiration for talking to your ideal audience about your wedding business.

So you want to meet with qualified leads, right?

Now’s the time you create a “freebie”, lead magnet (whatever you want to call it). It’s something that you give to help your couples address and solve their pain point(s) or questions. You want to pick what you think will resonate with your ideal audience.

You’ve done the groundwork in your milestones so now you just have to create something for them to download so you can capture their information.

I created a pricing tool that I used for years to attract my potential wedding clients and it works like a dream. And no, it’s not a pricing calculator. This is a pricing budgeting tool that is on steroids and I call it my “secret sauce” pricing’s that good! (This is what I teach in the Wedding Sales System.)

What can you create?

  • Checklist
  • Cheat Sheet
  • Template
  • List of Hacks
  • Worksheet
  • Planner
  • ...or whatever your people want to get their hands on.

Remember, you don’t need to get fancy here. So don’t spend a lot of time creating something. The idea is to grab their attention and get them to send you their information so you can add them to your email list or start the conversation in your direct messages about booking with you.

I list out quite a bit of them in my FREEBIE "Creating a Successful Lead Magnet" that you can download here:

Once you’ve got that figured out, it’s time to spread the word about your freebie.
Here are some ways to promote your new resource:

  • On your social media platforms (You can create for IG stories, IG reels, IG feed, even make a video for IGTV, FB post, FB cover, etc.
  • Update your social media links
  • In other people's Facebook groups (that allow promotion)
  • Put it on your email auto signature
  • If you have an email list, email them and tell them about it
  • As your fans to share and spread the word
  • Share it with wedding vendors you work with

Your Action Steps:

  1. Spend an hour to create your freebie and social media images in Canva or another program of your choosing.
  2. Spend 15-30 minutes to map out your daily promos from the above list on your calendar.
  3. Spend 15 minutes per day executing your promo or schedule them through a social media scheduling app.

So You Want to Attract an Ideal Audience?

I've given you the nuts and bolts of it here. Building your brand, telling your brand story and offering them a free bit of information and help along their journey will help you connect to your audience, building a raving fan base, all the while building an email list and yes, some sales so you can make some profit!

But nothing happens on its own. You have to be willing to step up and do the work. It doesn't have to be overwhelming or frustrating, if you follow step-by-step systems.

If you're committed to do this, then I recommend you follow the steps I have laid out for you above.

It truly is the quickest and easiest way to build you raving fan base and sell your wedding in less time, even if you just starting out with a tiny fan base or following that includes your mom and dad.

Again, if you want to download the Create A Successful Lead Magnet/Freebie just go here.

However, If you are ready to take your marketing strategy to the next level and develop your whole system: To QUALIFY those engaged couples BEFORE the consultation, nurture them to the consultation, sell them without “selling” them in the consultation, write your proposals, have your agreement templates, get them booked, nurture them through the wedding AND onto getting reviewed with testimonials, then my entrepreneur friend, the Wedding Sale System is your ultimate step-by-step program for you

Not Ready to Dive In and Get These Systems In Place Yet?
