How many times have you heard that one? 

So maybe you’ve been thinking you just need to post pictures of the floral designs you do.

For a looooong time I did the same thing. And watching others create these epic followings and engagement, I knew there was something I was missing.

Ok, let’s dive in.

 

SET THE STAGE

Before you can start priming them to come in and consult with you, you need to set the stage.

Let’s look at the first steps you can put into action NOW to get your leads primed, educated and ready to consult with you!

Milestone #1: Establish Your Foundation.

Step 1. Tell them your "WHY". In order to make a connection with you, they need to know your "why" around why you're in business.

Step 2. Share your Brand Values. This will build confidence in you and your company.

Step 3. Ask for the connection. Be bold and certain about what, and who, you are looking to work with. 

Milestone #2: Educate Them!

Step 1. Think about their biggest questions and pain points when it comes to choosing a florist and planning the flowers for their wedding.

Step 2. Make a list of those pain points and questions.

Step 3. Now, write down how to address those pain points and questions. How can you help them with those pain points and questions they have?

Milestone #3: Bring them in with Your Intentional Content

Step 1. Write a blog about each one of those pain points and questions. 

Step 2. If you have an email list (and I hope you do), write an email that points to each one of your blogs. Send them out week by week or however often you are posting your blog.

Step 3. Bring out three points from each blog post that gives you a caption, quote, insight, highlight, or point you can use for your social media posts. Pair each with an enticing photo or something from your repertoire of images you love! And don’t forget to pair some of those nuggets with images of you! This will bring connection to you and your audience.

Now, doing these action items above will most likely require spending a few hours as you build these steps out. But I guarantee you this will give you tons of content and inspiration for talking to your ideal audience about your wedding business.

Now’s the time you create a “freebie”, lead magnet (whatever you want to call it). It’s something that you give to help your couples address and solve their pain point(s) or questions. You want to pick what you think will resonate with your ideal audience. 

You’ve done the groundwork in your milestones so now you just have to create something for them to download so you can capture their information.

I created a pricing tool that I used for years to attract my potential wedding clients and it works like a dream. And no, it’s not a pricing calculator. This is a pricing budgeting tool that is on steroids and I call it my “secret sauce” pricing tool...it’s that good! (This is what I teach in the Wedding Sales System.)

What can you create?

  • Checklist
  • Cheat Sheet
  • Template
  • List of Hacks
  • Worksheet
  • Planner
  • ...or whatever your people want to get their hands on.

Remember, you don’t need to get fancy here. So don’t spend a lot of time creating something. The idea is to grab their attention and get them to send you their information so you can add them to your email list or start the conversation in your direct messages about booking with you.

Once you’ve got that figured out, it’s time to spread the word about your freebie.
Here are some ways to promote your new resource:

  • On your social media platforms (You can create for IG stories, IG reels, IG feed, even make a video for IGTV, FB post, FB cover, etc.
  • Update your social media links 
  • In other people's Facebook groups (that allow promotion)
  • Put it on your email auto signature
  • If you have an email list, email them and tell them about it
  • As your fans to share and spread the word
  • Share it with wedding vendors you work with

Your Action Steps:

  1. Spend an hour to create your freebie and social media images in Canva or another program of your choosing.
  2. Spend 15-30 minutes to map out your daily promos from the above list on your calendar.
  3. Spend 15 minutes per day executing your promo or schedule them through a social media scheduling app.

So You Want to Attract an Ideal Audience?

I've given you the nuts and bolts of it here. Building your brand, telling your brand story and offering them a free bit of information and help along their journey will help you connect to your audience, building a raving fan base, all the while building an email list and yes, some sales so you can make some profit!

But nothing happens on its own. You have to be willing to step up and do the work. It doesn't have to be overwhelming or frustrating, if you follow step-by-step systems.
